On January 1, 2021 the Tax Agency introduces new validations in the SII to improve the quality of the information provided. These new requirements will affect the register of invoices issued, the register of invoices received and some intra-community operations (consignment goods).

Main SII changes as of January 2021
- New fields have been introduced in the Register Book of Invoices Issued. Of note are those referring to the areas of investment goods and the incorporation of the fields necessary for the taxpayer to be able to deduct input VAT in a period subsequent to that of the registration.
- New special regime key to be used when applying the new special regimes derived from the directives concerning electronic commerce.
- The keeping of shipping and receiving operations of goods included in a consignment sales agreement. For this purpose, a Register Book of certain Intra-Community Transactions has been created.
- New validations in the Book of Issued Invoices.
