In recent months, the company has been working on further integration between Power BI and Microsoft Teams. In this regard, the goal is to facilitate the discovery and use of data within the company. The Power BI app for Teams is now available and allows users to:
- Find and view data fast without leaving Teams.
- Collaborate with the team and share perspectives.
- Foster a culture of using data to make better decisions faster.
Power BI App for Teams
The new application allows users to discover and search for content from within Teams. This access to data from Teams ensures that reports are always one click away from the conversations where decisions are being made. It therefore brings agility and consistency.
All Power BI content can be accessed without leaving the collaboration tool. Users can view reports, dashboards and apps. To use the app, you can search for Teams Apps experience:
- Click on "..." in the Teams navigation on the left.
- Search and select "Power BI".
- The app will open and you will have to log in with your Power BI access.

With the new search experience in Teams you can quickly find reports, dashboards and apps and open them in the Power BI app within the tool.
New Teams Chat experience to quickly find and share PowerBI content
With Chat in Teams you can send reports and dashboards directly to specific people, channels or meetings. These links maintain the filters applied in Power BI, so the recipients who receive them will see the points you want them to see.
It is also possible to add Teams reports to team channels.
