Actions to prevent connectivity disruption between ClickDimensions and Sales
Microsoft has introduced changes to the way its solutions connect to third-party apps. These changes may, in some cases, disrupt connectivity between ClickDimensions and Dynamics 365 Sales. It may affect cases where the connection is based on username/password authentication and online users only.
ClickDimensions online users should therefore check their connection type to avoid service failures. The current method can be reviewed under Settings and Solutions, Service Credentials. Here the current method will be selected and can be changed:
What to do to update the connection type?
If you find Username & Password selected, change it to one of the other two options:
- Service Principal Authenticaton: the possibility to use an application user for service authentication has been introduced. This user needs read and write access, but not to be the owner of the ClickDimensions workflows (as was the case when using username/password authentication).
- Application User: a session and user authentication service that allows a user to use one set of login credentials to access multiple applications.
