On October 1, the new wave of Dynamics 365 innovations will be rolled out. This year's second large-scale update introduces several important new features.
Business Central | New Customers
New Business Central Essentials or Premium customers will have:
- 1 production environment.
- 3 sandbox environments.
- 80 GB of storage.
Business Central | News for customers
If you are already a Business Central customer, from October 1 you will be able to subscribe to additional instances to those you already have through licensing. This makes it easier to expand with environments within your own country or abroad or to create new business branches. In addition, an unlimited number of additional production environments can be purchased. Each of these environments contains 1 instance, 3 sandboxes and 4 BB of additional storage.
On the other hand, for all those who now have Essentials or Premium licenses, environment rights will be maintained for one year or until the subscription is renewed or terminated. This will not increase overall database storage capacity or allow for additional sandbox environments. It is only active with production environments purchased separately by customers.
Dynamics 365 Project Operations is born, Project Service Automation disappears
Another major new feature in Dynamics 365 is the appearance of Project Operations and the disappearance of Project Service Autoamtion. The tool becomes part of Finance & Operations, not Customer Engagement. And, like the other tools, it will have Base and Attach licenses .
If you are currently a Project Service Automation customer, you should be aware of the following:
- There is a possibility that the contracts will continue until October 1, 2022.
- Project Service Automation licenses will automatically receive Project Operations licenses until December 31.
- In the end, transition will be necessary.
Microsoft Forms Pro becomes Dynamics 365 Customer Voice
Since August, Microsoft Forms Pro is called Dynamics 365 Customer Voice. Consequently, all surveys created in Forms Pro are moved to Customer Voice. The impact on those already created is non-existent, but the interface is new and new functionalities and new entities are also incorporated.
